By the boardDear reader,
The last two weeks with BeeVee activities of this academic year have started! Two very busy weeks with lots of fun activities. Luckily everyone has been able to rest and enjoy the lovely summer weather during this long weekend, so they are now full of energy to join the activites that our amazing committees have organized. We start off the week with the Fc party tonight at the well-known Sjors & Sjimmie! On Wednesday SPIn will be organizing a laser game battle in Goffert Park and Thursday everyone can attend the last BeestFeest of this academic year with the fitting theme ‘flower power’. The week after that on the 6th of June it is time for the yearly Waalbeach BBQ where you can enjoy some food, drinks and some lovely weather with your fellow biologists. The day after, on the 7th of June, the Almanac Borrel will take place. Here you can pick up the almanac that you already ordered or snatch one of the few extras they have. You can enjoy some company before it is time again to lock yourself in the library and spend the next weeks studying for the exams. But after that there is a well-deserved summer holiday!
For the board and BOC this holiday is a bit less relaxed than one might think: the preparations for the new first years have to continue! From me you can expect to receive the ‘are you still studying Biology mail’ for instance. But also the books have to be ordered, new members have to be registered, the plans for orientation week and mentor midweek have to be finalized, GMM-documents have to made, etc. After the summer holiday there will also be another moment where committees will be looking for new members. This means that you as a member only have to think about one thing during the summer holiday: what committee do I want to join next year?!
In this week’s newsletter: Agenda, Become a student assistant in Q1, RU Healthy Student Life survey, Late Night Conference, Radboud Impact Festival, Picture of the week.
With love,
On behalf of the 38th board,
Machiel Weistra
